Who is Beetlejuice? A huge critical and commercial success, the 1988 film Beetlejuice follows the young couple Barbara and Adam Maitland, who find themselves trapped haunting their old home after dying in a car crash. When a new family and their gothic teenage daughter, Lydia, move into their house, the ghost couple tries to scare them off. Their unsuccessful haunting attempts attract a flamboyant spirit, whose help becomes dangerous for both the couple of souls and the young, innocent Lydia. Exploring the Beetlejuice statue: Ready to scare the living, a mischievous and trickster ghost, dressed in a not-so-elegant black-and-white striped suit, with a wild, disheveled green mane and a perpetually grimy smiling face, plans his supernatural pranks beside his tombstone decorated with small skull gargoyles and his name carved in the phrase "Here lies Betelgeuse."
