Who is Hellboy? At the end of World War II, villains built a dimensional portal to unleash monstrous creatures imprisoned in deep space. A team of Allied soldiers led by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, nicknamed Prof. Broom, manages to stop them by destroying the portal, but in the brief time it was open, it brought forth a peculiar child with a stone right hand. Rescued by the soldiers who named him Hellboy, he was adopted and raised as a son by Prof. Broom, who founded the B.P.R.D. (Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense) to secretly keep the world safe from supernatural threats. In the present day, Hellboy works at the B.P.R.D. alongside a Task Force made up of special individuals with enhanced talents and specially trained human agents to face threats from sinister dark forces. In the sequel to the 2004 Hellboy movie, Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008), once again directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Ron Perlman, agent Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. must prevent the rebel elven prince Nuada from awakening an unstoppable mechanical army that could be used to exterminate humanity and return the world to magical creatures. Exploring the Hellboy statue: On a tombstone cross of an ancient cemetery, the giant red agent of the B.P.R.D. (Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense) balances while holding his large six-round shotgun called Big Baby in his left hand, and with his right Hand of Doom clenched, a gauntlet attached to his hand made of what appears to be solid stone, ready to punch any supernatural creature that threatens him.
